Box with room for 4 swifts and the calling device

We were gifted a high-quality colony swift nest box (with 4 compartments) and  received Archdeacon’s Permission to install it last year.  We’ve also acquired a call box which will play a recording of swifts calling, to attract the swifts, when they arrive in early summer, to a potential new home. Swifts are wonderful birds which travel vast distances but can struggle to find suitable nesting places when they get here.

We are hoping the recording of other swifts on the wing about the tower will encourage some pairs to nest in our boxes this Summer.

Last year at the Annual Civic Service a Rededication of Ancient Charter Document was made.

The Town Mayor of Sudbury Councillor Ellen Murphy requested the pleasure of your company to the Annual Civic Service & Rededication of Ancient Charter Document to be held at All Saints Parish Church, Church Street, Sudbury. CO10 2BN on Sunday 23rd April 2023 at 2.30 pm
The last remaining copy of the charter which was given to each of the three medieval churches in Sudbury was kept safely in All Saints' church vestry.  In 1736, the town Charter, was copied by hand for each of the three town churches by Churchwarden, John Voyce, and hung in the vestries. All Saints’ copy alone survives. The Sudbury Freeman’s Trust paid for our copy to be re-glazed. It will return to the vestry after being blessed at the service. Mrs Fiona Wheeler copied the various wills which is now displayed in church along with a photograph of the copy of the Charter.
