Annual Parish Church Meeting
Sunday 22nd April
The Parochial Church Council elections were held after the main morning
service at the combined Parish Meetings. Churchwardens elected are Dr.
Malcolm Offord and Mrs Jane Penson. Two new members were elected to the
PCC. Mrs Katrina Dalgleish and Mrs Nicki Dixon. Mrs Hilary Sparks was
re-elected. Mr. Robert Fish, Mrs Elizabeth Wiles, Mr. Tony Rowe and Mrs
Sarah Smith are continuing to serve until the end of their terms. There
is one unfilled vacancy. Mr. Graham Naylor and Mrs Amanda Reavell are
continuing as representatives on the Deanery Synod.
The next lunch will be on Sunday 6th May, when anyone who would
be eating alone but would perfer to eat a trditional home cooked Lenten
meal in company may join us in the Church Hall. The three courses will
cost £6.00. The small profit helps to maintain the hall which has
a listed frontage. To reserve a place or buy a ticket a full week in advance,
contact Virginia, please.
“Parish Prayers” are after coffee following the 10am
service on the third Sunday in the month, in the side chapel. Our next
opportunity will be on 18th February when it will be a good time to pray
about the changes we are putting into action. If you would like to join
us that would be great as we believe prayer is needed to support every
facet of life in our parish. If you can’t attend but would like
a specific prayer offered to our Lord just let Malcolm
know and it will be offered there on your behalf.
The Sunday evening group is not meeting during Lent as there are several
Lent groups meeting in various homes in the parish including one on Sunday
evening. Please contact Simon
for details of the nearest to you.
The kitchen is now fully equipped and in use. The final appliances
were fixed and plumbed in on Friday 3rd November. Coffee and tea are now
served in china mugs in the North Aisle after main services.
An informal service of Morning Prayer is held every Friday morning from
9.30am until 10am. This takes place in the church.

Church Hall Hire
Our hall, which has good kitchen facilities, is available for parties
or meetings and there is a smaller hall at the back which could be used
for smaller functions. The main hall is available at £15 an hour
which goes to the Hall Fund. There is no music or bar licence and insurance
is the responsibility of the hirer. The main hall can hold up to 100 people:
the small hall holds about 20. Contact Mr.
Robert Fish for further details.
The church will not be left open when there is not a service or other
actiity until further notice. The keyholders
are usually able to let visitors in upon request.
